ERC Poland 3 different crews, 3 different results

21.06.2021

Welcome to the day after ERC Rally Poland 2021!

Our team had been expecting this event since March when due to Covid restrictions ERC Azores was cancelled.

ERC rallies are always special for our team because every so often we get to stand on the starting line with more than one crew and when such a big part of the team leaves for a rally you just know something good will come out of it!

And this years first ERC Rally in Poland gave us exactly that - diversity, a little bit of sadness and a whole lot of success and happiness.

Lets start with V.Jurkevičus who after a very successful rally in Lithuania at the beginning of June was more than ready to drive against some of the fastest drives in rally today. Unfortunately, it never came to that because of some medical issues the driver experienced on the first day of qualification.

The dust caused by cars is charming in photo shots, but those caught in the eye can cause a lot of damage. The crew is still in the hospital and the especially long Friday is not over yet. Stay strong and when we have more news we will report! V.Jurkevicius via Facebook
Unfortunately we won't be jumping again this weekend. Health matters have not improved, but this is not the place where you can participate by seeing only one eye. V.Jurkevicius via Facebook

Our second crew with VW Polo GTI R5 had a very bumpy start on the first day - this was a very dusty rally with deep ruts and during shakedown Nikolay Gryazin had to stop and get out of the car to get rid of the sand in the front that eventually could lead to engine overheating. After that the second day was amazing - he took the lead in each stage and showed the best times, however rally ended for the VW Polo crew when both of the front tires got completely ruined and there was only one spare in the trunk. The crew is all in all happy because after a brought start they managed to show excellent results in the second day and got good practice for ERC Liepaja and WRC Estonia.

We came here to @rallypoland to show our pace and competitiveness on fast gravel roads as a proper preparation for the coming WRC event in @rallyestonia . After the less than successful QS (resulting in being 39th on the seeding) to do the performance we did, we are going away from this event with full of confidence as we managed to show exceptional pace against strong opposition. Looking forward to the next ERC round @lvrally and @officialwrc event @rallyestonia. See you all there!!! The #gryazinairline will take off soon again! 🤣🛫✈️ And special thanks to @fiaerc for their warm welcome and friendly atmosphere during their events. Feels like being with family again! And last but not least Miko Marczyk with SRT Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo took the first ERC round this year with great precision, a clear mind, calm nerves and all in all - great results.

1st place in the Polish Rally Championship and 3rd place overall in ERC Poland. Overjoyed and we think it had a lot to do with driving on his turf - his homeland.

It's an amazing feeling. We finished 3th in the European Championships and 1th place in the Polish Championships in Jubilee, the 77. th edition of the Polish Rally! We fought with the best players in the world, proud of our entire team and glad that the work we do brings results. Just ran my best rally ever. Greetings and thanks for keeping your fingers crossed.
