Last weekend our team took part in the 5th round of the European Rally Championship - Rallye Azores with Škoda Fabia Rally2 and Polish crew Miko Marczyk/Szymon Gospodarczyk.
From the start, it was a very difficult rally as it has always been. SRT has been to Azores many times and last time it even led to an overall victory!
However, it was the first time for the Polish crew and the nerves - oh how the nerves like to take part in rallies too. In our opinion, Miko and Szymon did an amazing job keeping it together - through the rain, the fog, the mud where many very good and experienced drivers were forced to retire. A steady speed that through the days led Miko from being in the 7th position to being in the 5th position overall.
So that you can feel what the driver was experiencing here are some of his comments between stages:
"This was the toughest stage of my life, now we are heading to one even tougher."
"It was very tricky, we didn't have a grip on the rear. But we tried our best, it was a challenge."
"The stage was really nice, but to be honest it was one of the toughest days in my life, I lost concentration a few times, for now, this is our best."
Overall the team and the driver is happy to have come to the finish line with an intact car and solid result!
