Last weekend, the third stage of the Baltic Motorway Championship took place on the Pärnu "auto24ring" track, where Ģirts Krūzmanis celebrated the victories in the most prestigious classes "TCR" and "BTC1" of the racing series.
In the world-popular and prestigious "TCR" class, where athletes drive identical cars to the FIA World Championship, Lithuanian athletes have historically dominated the Baltic region. However, the weight cups have changed this season with Ģirts Krūzmanis' participation in the championship. Krūzmanis showed his superiority by winning the first starting place in the qualification with an Audi "RS3 LMS" car. The fact that all five participants in the class were half a second apart shows serious competition.
The technical problems at the start of the first race made Krūzmanis fall to the third position in the first lap, however, by the end of the race, Lithuanian athlete Rokas Kvedaras was overtaken, Krūzmanis gave way only to Estonian Peeter Peek. In the second race, Krūzmanis safely controlled the events on the track, celebrating victory both in the race and in the stage - the first victory for an athlete from Latvia in the "TCR" class.
The final stage of the Baltic Championship will take place from the 10th till the 11th October in Bikernieki race track, where we will see both "TCR" and powerful Lamborghini cars.
